At Appleby we believe that the residents and their needs come first. Daily life is informal and relaxed and we encourage visitors to call in at any time to see their friends and relatives. We recognise the importance of people maintaining their interests and hobbies and how they spend their time and what they do is their decision within the boundaries of health and safety.
The times of getting up and going to bed are left to the individual and we believe in keeping people as active as possible. Outside entertainers such as singers and musicians visit on a regular basis and there is also a weekly exercise session. Other activities and outings are arranged by the staff and a hairdresser visits twice a week.
Newspapers and magazines are delivered daily and chiropractors, opticians and health professionals visit on a regular basis.
A Chapel service takes place in the home once a month and also an Anglican Communion service for those wishing to take part.
